The one ObamaCare certainty: It is a tax
Surprisingly, the sun came up this morning in a post-ObamaCare world. The Supreme Court upheld the landmark legislation that puts America one the road (and in the fast lane) toward national health care.
There's still a lot of uncertainty out there. And you can bet because of the way a Democrat-controlled Congress rammed the law down America's throat, there will be hundreds of unintended consequences.
But there is one thing we now know for sure: ObamaCare is a tax. The Supreme Court ruled so. The ObamaCare lawyers defended it as so. The only ones still in denial are Democrats who sold it as something else.
Who can forget this memorable exchange:
Obama: My critics say everything is a tax increase. My critics say I'm taking over every sector of the economy. You know that. Look, we can have a legitimate debate about whether or not we're going to have an individual mandate or not, but—
Stephanopoulos: But you reject that it's a tax increase?
Obama: I absolutely reject that notion.
The president rejected that "notion" while at the same time defending it as a tax in court.
When asked about it being a tax yesterday, Nancy Pelosi said "Call it what will."
Well, isn't that special?
PS: Here is an excellent rundown on exactly how much more you are going to pay under ObamaCare. It isn't pretty. The increases begin next year.
PPS: ObamaCare will still leave $30 million uninsured. How can that be? Here's how.
