— The Las Vegas Farm, 7222 W. Grand Teton Drive, plans its Farm Fall Harvest Festival from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Wednesday. The Farm plans to feature candied apples, pumpkin chips, hay rides, a cow train, face painting, pumpkin carving, specialty and winter squash and more. Admission is $1. — J.R. Pony Parties, an educational farm, welcomes the public to visit from 10 a.m. to noon during Open Gate Days scheduled for today, Nov. 6, 12, 20 and 23 and Dec. 4, 18 and 28 at 1753 Fairhaven Ave. Admission is $5, which includes pony rides, visits to the goat barn and more. — The monthly First Friday arts festival returns from 6 to 11 p.m. Friday to the 18b Las Vegas Arts District downtown. Visit firstfridaylasvegas.com.

— The Trails Village Center ArtWalk is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the center, 1970 Village Center Circle. Admission and parking are free. Dozens of artisans participate in the juried festival. Visit markvranesh.com.

— The College of Southern Nevada's Department of Fine Arts plans to present a free informal dance concert at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Nicholas J. Horn Theatre, 3200 E. — The College of Southern Nevada's Department of Fine Arts' Jazz Singers plan to perform at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday in the BackStage Theater, 3200 E. — Cafe Ole, a place for dancers to get together and share their love of dance, is planned for 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Summerlin Library and Performing Arts Center Theatre, 1771 Inner Circle Drive. — "Inspecting Carol," by Daniel Sullivan and the Seattle Repertory Theatre, is scheduled to run Friday through Nov. 18 on the Mainstage at Las Vegas Little Theatre, 3920 Schiff Drive. A new actor comes to The Soap Box Playhouse and is mistaken for an inspector from the National Endowment for the Arts in this holiday comedy. Performances are set for 8 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays. A 2 p.m. matinee is also planned for Nov. 10. Tickets are $24 for adults and $21 for seniors and students. — Wings over the Springs is back at the Springs Preserve with owls, falcons, hawks and ravens flying overhead in two live shows at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. weekends and select school holidays through Feb. 24. New to the show are the Harris hawk, peregrine falcon, yellow vulture, African augur buzzard, common buzzard and a pair of yellow-billed black kites native to Southern Africa and the Middle East. The two female kites are said to be the only members of this species in the U.S. The flight shows are free with Springs Preserve membership or paid admission. For $10, guests can upgrade to a backstage pass that allows direct interaction with the birds after the show. The Springs Preserve plans its annual Dia de Muertos Day of the Dead celebration from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Admission is $8 for adults, $5 for children 5 to 12 and free for children 4 or younger. Museum members get in for half price. Visit springspreseve.org.

PLAN AHEAD

— The Centennial Hills Active Adult Center, 6601 N. Buffalo Drive, plans to host a scarecrow making event at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 7. Advanced registration is required and will cost $5 with a current $2 senior center membership. A PVC skeleton and a base will be provided, but participants are asked to bring an old pair of jeans and shirt, dress and shoes to create a scarecrow that will be used to decorate the center. —  Las Vegas City Councilman Steve Ross plans to host the Cowboy Christmas and Classic Car Show from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 1 at Floyd Lamb Park at Tule Springs, 9200 Tule Springs Road. The free event is scheduled to include photos with Santa, hay rides, a petting zoo, a jump house, face painting, a farmers market, craft and food vendors and historic ranch house tours. Centennial, Shadow Ridge, Arbor View, Saville, Scherkenbach, Escobedo, Lied and Cadwallader school choirs plan to perform. The U.S. Marines will be collecting toys for Toys for Tots Drive, and the city will collect nonperishable food for needy seniors in the area. Early registration for the car show is $25, due by Nov. 21, or $35 cash the day of the event. All makes, models and years are welcome.
