Prepare for "Rock and Roll-Zydeco," a Music on the Mountain show scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort, 6725 Lee Canyon Road on Mount Charleston. Gates open at 10 a.m. Acts are scheduled to include Porterhouse Bob and Down to the Bone, BluesStorm, the Diane Kallay Band, the Howlin' Hounds and the Mike Vaughan Band. Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for military personnel with a valid ID, $5 for children 12 or younger and free for children 4 or younger. Parking is free. The Southern Nevada Musical Arts Society plans to open its 50th season with "Songs of Our Politics" at 2 p.m. Sept. 22 at the Winchester Cultural Center, 3130 McLeod Drive. The program, featuring the 22-voice Musical Arts singers and instrumental ensemble, under the direction of Douglas R. Peterson, is set to bring to life more than 200 years of presidential campaign music. John Hanks is to provide narration. Keyboard accompaniment will be provided by Eric Eichorst.
