The third annual Mount Charleston Arts and Crafts Show is planned from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at The Resort on Mount Charleston, 2275 Kyle Canyon Road. Worth a Drive

The city of North Las Vegas Movie Madness free movie in the park nights are scheduled to begin at dusk. Kids activities are slated at 6:30 p.m. Moviegoers are invited to bring blankets and picnics. Movies planned at North Las Vegas City Hall Civic Plaza, 2250 Las Vegas Blvd. North, include "The Muppets," Friday and "Happy Feet 2," Oct. 5. Movies planned at Nature Discovery Park, 2600 Nature Park Drive, include "Puss in Boots," Aug. 31 and "Zookeeper," Sept. 21. Visit cityofnorthlasvegas.com.

Parents can have a few hours to themselves without being "bugged" thanks to "Night at the Museum: A Bug's Life," an evening designed for children 5 to 12 scheduled from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Springs Preserve, 333 S. Valley View Blvd. The event is set to feature tours of the Origen Museum, snacks, a pizza dinner and a screening of the film "A Bug's Life." Admission is $25 per child. Members receive a $5 discount. HELP of Southern Nevada, 1640 E. Flamingo Road, is slated to host its Boot Scootin' Benefit from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Gilley's Saloon, Dance Hall & Bar-B-Que inside Treasure Island, 3300 Las Vegas Blvd. South. The fundraiser is set to feature line dancing, mechanical bull riding, psychic readings and food and beverage specials. Tickets are $25 and include a raffle ticket and a drink. "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" is scheduled to run as part of Super Summer Theatre's season lineup at 8 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays through Aug. 25 at Spring Mountain Ranch State Park on state Route 159 about 10 miles west of the Las Vegas Beltway. Parking opens at 5 p.m., and meadow seating opens at 6 p.m. Guests are encouraged to bring a blanket or rent a chair in general-admission grass seating. Advance tickets are $12. Prepare for "Rock and Roll-Zydeco," a Music on the Mountain show, planned for 10:30 a.m. Aug. 18 at the Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort, 6725 Lee Canyon Road on Mount Charleston. Gates open at 10 a.m. Acts are scheduled to include Blues Storm, the Diane Kallay Band, Howlin Hounds and the Mike Vaughn Band. Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for military personnel with a valid ID, $5 for children 12 or younger and free for children 4 or younger. Parking is free. No pets, outside food or beverages will be allowed. Bring blankets, cushions and low-back lawn chairs. Overnight camping is available. The fee is $25 per campsite, and the area must be contained.
