Centennial High School plans to host the fifth annual Evening of Hope, Strength and Joy from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday at the school's theater, 10200 Centennial Parkway. Students plan to perform songs, dance and other acts in a show to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southern Nevada and the Patrick Slade Foundation. Donation is $10.

The Las Vegas Farmers Market is scheduled to set up from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the first and third Saturday of the month at Floyd Lamb Park at Tule Springs, 9200 Tule Springs Road. Admission to the park is free during the market. Visit lasvegasfarmers

A show titled "Geraldine Zarate, the Artist," featuring paintings inspired by children's book illustrators, is scheduled to be on display through March 3 at the Centennial Hills Library, 6711 N. Buffalo Drive. Visit lvccld.org.

J.R. Pony Parties, an educational farm, welcomes the public to visit from 10 a.m. to noon during Open Gate Days, scheduled for today, Feb. 5, 18 and 26, March 12 and 19, April 2 and 16 and 30 and May 7, 21 and 27 at 1753 Fairhaven Ave. Admission is $5, which includes pony rides, visits to the goat barn and more. WORTH A DRIVE

The Utah Shakespeare Festival Tour plans to perform "Romeo and Juliet," directed by John Marclay, at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 8 and 2 p.m. Feb. 9 at the Nicholas J. The Springs Preserve, 333 S. Valley View Blvd., plans to host Southern Paiute Cultural Sharing from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays during February. The Henderson Bird Viewing Preserve, 350 E. Galleria Drive, plans to host Birding Basics from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday. NCM Fathom Events, Overnight Musicals and The Broadway League plan to present "One Night Stand: Creating a Play in a Day" at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Village Square 18, 9400 W. Sahara Ave. The event follows some of New York's top comedic actors, writers, composers and directors as they are given 24 hours to write, cast, compose, rehearse and perform four short musicals at New York City's Gramercy Theatre. Addison's Lounge in the Rampart Casino at The Resort at Summerlin, 221 N. Rampart Blvd., plans to offer live entertainment from Wes Winters from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays and Mark O'Toole from 7 to 11 p.m. Wednesdays. The shows are free. Call 702-507-5900.

"Another Time, Another Place," a suite of photographic work by Charles Morgan, is scheduled to be the opening exhibit at RTZvegas at Art Square, 1017 S. First St. A reception is scheduled from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday. The photos, taken more than 16 years ago, were created through in-camera color separations and rendered through four-color Xerox transfers onto printmaking paper. RTZvegas was launched by Richard Hooker, who spent more than a decade working for the city of Las Vegas Office of Cultural Affairs before leaving the position to develop the RTZvegas project.
