Things to do in Henderson/Anthem

First Friday returns to the 18b Arts District from 6 p.m. to midnight for the second time under new management. Local food vendors and live music will be featured, both in the Arts District and along Fremont Street East. Visit firstfriday-lasvegas.org or call 229-6551.

Galleries participating include:

n Blackbird Studios, 1551 S. Commerce St., is set to open its newest exhibit, "Celebrating Existence: A Show of Atheism," featuring works from 26 artists and an opening reception.

n Trifecta Gallery inside The Arts Factory, 107 E. Charleston Blvd., is slated to open "Keep on the Sunnyside," with works from award-winning illustrator Anthony Freda.

n Brett Wesley Gallery, 1112 S. Casino Center Blvd., plans to open the exhibit, "Stream of Consciousness," with works from Dutch artist and designer Johnny Detiger. A meet-and-greet with Detiger is slated for 6 to 9 p.m.

n The Contemporary Arts Center inside The Arts Factory, 107 E. Charleston Blvd., plans to continue Scott Carter's "Affect/Effect."

n Sin City Gallery inside The Arts Factory plans to present works from local artist Gia Ray through Nov. 26.

n Joesph Watsons' studio inside The Arts Factory, 107 E. Charleston Blvd., plans to exhibit a Frankenstein-inspired group show Friday through Nov. 25. Call 742.4021.

n The Rotunda Gallery inside the Clark County Government Center, 500 S. Grand Central Parkway, is celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Vegas Valley Book Festival with the exhibit, "10x10: A creative exchange between visual artists and writers." An opening First Friday reception is slated for 6 to 8 p.m. The exhibit features works from artists and writers influenced by Southern Nevada's creative culture.

n The Vegas Artists Guild is scheduled to show in the main gallery at the City of the World gallery, 1229 S. Casino Center Drive.
