Watch local skaters show off their skills during the Holiday Extravaganza on Ice scheduled for 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Las Vegas Ice Center, 9295 W. Flamingo Road. A Christmas celebration with warm beverages, music, activities and photos with Santa is planned from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Spring Mountain Ranch State Park, about 15 miles west of the Las Vegas Beltway on state Route 159. The show features local figure skaters of all ages and follows the story of a young girl given a special pair of golden skates to wear when she is crowned princess as she turns 21. Bass Pro Shops' fifth annual Santa's Wonderland Village is scheduled to be open through Dec. 24. The village offers an old-time model train, remote-control trucks, a laser arcade, a soft-gun range and slot-car racing. New to this year's village is a talking caribou.
