Opportunity Village's Magical Forest, 6300 W. Oakey Blvd., is set to open for its 21st year Wednesday. In addition to the holiday display, attendees can expect photos with Santa, nightly entertainment, a carousel, train rides, a gingerbread house display, mini-golf and more. Tickets are $9 for children, $11 for adults and free for children 3 or younger. The entry fee does not include rides. Santa Claus is slated to arrive at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Tivoli Village, 302 S. Rampart Blvd., in a horse and carriage leading a parade. The parade will end at Santa's house, where children will have the opportunity to sit on Santa's lap, share their holiday wishes and have photos taken. No purchase is necessary to visit with Santa. One grand prize-winning child and his family will receive a complimentary horse and carriage ride with Santa in the parade, lunch at Brio Tuscan Grille, a complimentary train ride and a picture package with Santa. The Trans-Siberian Orchestra is teaming with the Hallmark Channel to present the band's multiplatinum rock opera, "The Lost Christmas Eve," at 3 and 7:30 p.m. Dec. 2 at The Orleans Arena, 4500 W. Tropicana Ave. "The Lost Christmas Eve" features elements of rock, classical, folk, Broadway and R&B. The show encompasses a rundown hotel, an old toy store, a blues bar, a Gothic cathedral and their respective inhabitants, all intertwined during a single enchanted Christmas Eve in New York City.
