The third annual Nevada Wild & Scenic Film Festival is scheduled to finish its state tour in Las Vegas at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Rio's Brazilia Room, 3700 W. Flamingo Road. The event is scheduled to open at 6 p.m. with live music, microbrews, food selections and eco-informational exhibits. The festival's 14 films range in length from two to 28 minutes. Winter Jam Tour Spectacular, a Christian rock, rap and contemporary music concert, is scheduled for 6 p.m. Sunday at The Orleans Arena, 4500 W. Life in Death: Day of the Dead, a two-day festival featuring craft sales, food venders and displays is scheduled today and tomorrow at the Winchester Cultural Center, 3150 S. McLeod Drive. The juried Day of the Dead Art Exhibit is scheduled to be on display through Nov. 11. Admission is free.

Poets Maile Chapman, Alejandro Mozqueda and Jairo García are winners in the festival's calavera competition. The calavera, a the Day of the Dead tradition, usually satirizes the prominent by reminding us that no matter how grand humans become everyone dies. The winners are scheduled to read their pieces at 8 p.m. Wednesday. Finalist poets -- Rigoberto Cárdenas, Ofelia Zamorano Ruelas, Hugo Rios, Laura Serrano García and Leo Zamorano Ruelas are invited to read their work at times throughout the festival. The Spring Mountain Free Trappers have planned their 2011 rendezvous for Nov. 11-13 at Spring Mountain Ranch State Park, in the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. Sin City Gallery inside The Arts Factory plans to present works from local artist Gia Ray through Nov. 26.

The Rotunda Gallery inside the Clark County Government Center, 500 S. Grand Central Parkway, is celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Vegas Valley Book Festival with the exhibit "10x10: A creative exchange between visual artists and writers."
