Worth a Drive

The third annual Mount Charleston Arts and Crafts Show is planned from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at The Resort on Mount Charleston, 2275 Kyle Canyon Road. Fine art, jewelry, clothing, fiber arts, toys, pet supplies, baby and children's clothing, home decor and other crafts are to be featured by valley artisans. Sychronized swim teams from Southern Nevada are scheduled to perform in a free water show from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Baker Pool, 1100 E. St. Louis Ave. Call 229-1532.

Parents can have a few hours to themselves without being "bugged" thanks to "Night at the Museum: A Bug's Life," an evening designed for children 5 to 12 scheduled from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Springs Preserve, 333 S. Valley View Blvd. The event is set to feature tours of the Origen Museum, snacks, a pizza dinner and a screening of the film "A Bug's Life." Admission is $25 per child. Members receive a $5 discount. HELP of Southern Nevada, 1640 E. Flamingo Road, is slated to host its Boot Scootin' Benefit from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Gilley's Saloon, Dance Hall & Bar-B-Que inside Treasure Island, 3300 Las Vegas Blvd. South. The fundraiser is set to feature line dancing, mechanical bull riding, psychic readings and food and beverage specials. Tickets are $25 and include a raffle ticket and a drink. Parking opens at 5 p.m., and meadow seating opens at 6 p.m. Guests are encouraged to bring a blanket or rent a chair in general-admission grass seating. Advance tickets are $12.
