WORTH A DRIVE

Super Summer Theatre continues at Spring Mountain Ranch State Park in the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, roughly 10 miles west of the Las Vegas Beltway on Charleston Boulevard/state Route 159. A Brazilian Outdoor Festival is planned from 2 to 10 p.m. Sept. 8 at Via Brasil Steakhouse, 1225 S. Fort Apache Road. The event will take place in the parking lot and is set to feature a celebration of Brazilian Independence Day with live bands, Samba dancers, fire performers, Capoeira performers, children’s entertainment, shopping and Brazilian food, beverages and cocktails. Tivoli Village, 440 S. Rampart Blvd., plans to host free Movie Nights in the Park at 7:30 p.m. Saturdays in September in the event area next to the new children’s play area. Free popcorn is planned. The Las Vegas Harvest Festival’s Art and Craft Show is planned from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 6-7 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 8 at Cashman Center, 850 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Crafts are to include woodcarvings, jewelry, pottery, clothing, toys, paintings, food and more. General admission tickets are $9, but attendees who bring in a can of food, baby food, formula or paper products will receive $2 off. Senior tickets are $7, and children 13-17 are $4. The Las Vegas Pride Festival is set to celebrate its 30th anniversary from noon to 10 p.m. Sept. 7 at the Clark County Amphitheater, 500 S. Grand Central Parkway. More than 100 exhibitors, stage performances, a food court and family activity zone are planned. The Pride Night Parade is scheduled for Sept. 6, with pre-parade entertainment set for 7 to 8 p.m. at the Parade Main Stage at Fourth Street and Bridger Avenue. Visit lasvegaspride.org.

Children are welcome get ready for international Talk Like a Pirate Day by reading pirate stories and making a pirate hat during an event scheduled from 6 to 7 p.m. Sept. 19 at the Sunrise Library, 5400 E. Harris Ave. Visit lvccld.org.

The Performing Arts Society of Nevada plans a vocal and dance concert, “Play It Again Sam,” at 2 p.m. Sept. 22 at the Winchester Cultural Center, 3130 McLeod Drive.

The performance will feature will feature the music of “Casablanca” and other classic movies.

The Las Vegas Improvisation Players a show at 7 p.m. Sept. 28 at the American Heritage Academy, 6126 S. Sandhill Road. The family-friendly comedy and music improv show takes suggestions from the audience and performs scenes, songs and poems.

Tickets are $10 and available at the door, which opens at 6:40 p.m.
