Timelapse captures 5 years of sun’s life — VIDEO

Space is pretty fascinating, isn’t it?

And this video from NASA proves it. The video was released celebrating the Solar Dynamics Observatory’s fifth anniversary orbiting space.

In less than three minutes, five years of the sun’s rotation are captured. The video strings together pictures compiled from June 2010 to Feb. 8, 2015, capturing one frame every 8 hours.

The various colors the sun changes into represents the various wavelengths that the SDO observes.

Watching the sun with the dramatic music really makes you think about how vast the universe can be.

Thank you, NASA.
