Titus on health deal: “Withholding judgment”
With the White House reaching a tentative deal with organized labor over the taxation of "Cadillac" health insurance plans as part of an overall reform bill, here is the view of Rep. Dina Titus, D-Nev., conveyed by her spokesman Andrew Stoddard:
"Congresswoman Titus has expressed concern for the tax on insurance plans; however if some form of the tax is going to be included in the bill, she is encouraged that negotiations are moving toward changes that will exclude more workers from the tax. Negotiations are ongoing and she is withholding judgment until language is final. As the compromise bill develops, she will continue to study it and weigh each piece and how they come together to achieve her goals of reducing health care costs, strengthening Medicare, and increasing choices for Nevadans."
