Titus tap dances into GOP attack

WASHINGTON -- Rep. Dina Titus has been around politics for a while as a member of Congress and long time state Senate leader in Nevada.

So she probably saw this one coming, as Republicans picked out a quote from her "meet the lawmaker" profile published today in The Hill, a Capitol newspaper and Web site.

Q: What did you want to be when you were young? Rep. Titus: I wanted to be a tap dancer. I took dance lessons. I do a lot of political tap dancing now, too.

Hours later, here is the headline on a press release put out by the National Republican Congressional Committee that is looking to unseat Titus in 2010:

"Dina Titus Admits to Engaging in 'Political Tap Dancing'"
