Toll Brothers partners with Energy Star

Low-e windows and energy-efficient refrigerators are among the energy-saving features used by Toll Brothers in its luxury homes throughout Las Vegas, according to Neil Baxter, the builder's senior purchasing manager.

"We know how important energy efficiency is to home buyers, especially right now given the high cost of utilities," Baxter said. "Besides saving homeowners money, energy-saving features are good for the environment. Our commitment to energy conservation translates to greater value for homeowners when they purchase a Toll Brothers home."

Features such as superior insulation, state-of-the-art heating and cooling systems, advanced water-heating devices, upscale appliances and high-performance windows ensure that Toll Brothers homeowners live in comfort while helping protect the environment, Baxter said. Any time a home consumes less electricity the environment benefits because a utility company can cut back on the burning of coal that dirties the air and contributes to global warming, he said.

Environmentally friendly products used in Toll Brothers' Las Vegas-area homes include GE Profile appliances, Atrium low-e windows, Carrier/Bryant air-conditioning units, Progress lighting and Bradford White water heaters.

"The caliber of framing and architectural design elements of Toll Brothers homes also contribute to energy efficiency," Baxter said. "Quality materials and craftsmanship are hallmarks of all Toll Brothers homes and combine to create an environmentally superior product."

Over the past year, Toll Brothers built more than 200 Energy Star-certified homes in the Las Vegas area. In addition, there were more than 600 Toll Brothers homes built elsewhere in Nevada that qualified for Energy Star distinction.

Energy-efficient Toll Brothers communities in Las Vegas include Fairway Hills at The Ridges in Summerlin, Traccia at Summerlin, Madison Grove at Providence, Franklin Park at Providence, Toll Brothers at Inspirada, and Mirasol and Madera at Mountain's Edge.

Toll Brothers is a member of Nevada Energy Star Partners, a coalition of Southern Nevada home builders, developers, retailers, mortgage providers, energy consultants and local utilities promoting energy conservation.

Energy Star-rated homes meet building guidelines for energy efficiency set forth by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
