Tropicana’s woes continue
The beleaguered Tropicana, one of the few Las Vegas casinos that disproves the adage “location, location, location,” continues to fade
like a cheap suit on the Strip. Mired in bankruptcy, its management seemingly bereft of innovative ideas, the Trop this week saw 560 of
its rooms ordered closed for failing inspection by local authorities.
The worst part of it is, management says the problems stem from plumbing that was improperly installed – back in 1990.
They’re just noticing trouble 19 years after the work was done?
I don’t know about your home warranty, but mine doesn’t last that long.
The first concern is with the lack of timely inspection. That’s a no-brainer.
The second is something possibly far more serious for the Tropicana. With little cash to make repairs, 19-year-old plumbing problems could cost a bundle. And the longer the rooms are closed, the easier it is for people to go somewhere else.
It does, however, reduce the need for housekeeping service.
