Trudi’s romance quickie: ‘Addicted to Love’
“Addicted to Love” by Lori Wilde is an extremely hilarious story.
Raised in Valentine, Texas, Rachel Henderson is very much put out with romance. After being jilted at the alter, she vandalizes the town billboard. She is arrested at the request of the town mayor who is up for re-election. The sheriff, Brody Carlton, feels bad about Rachel spending the night in a cold jail cell, so he takes her home with him for the evening. Although his sister and her daughter live with him, there is still a lot of sexual tension between the prisoner and jailer.
Upon Rachel’s release from jail, she establishes Romanceaholics Anonymous. This divides the town and has someone else vandalizing the town’s heart-shaped parking meters, Rachel’s car and other town property. Brody is afraid someone might hurt Rachel in a quest for vengeance. He is also very much in love with her and doesn’t know how to change her mind about romance.
This book has it all, romance, humor, mystery and just good, plain fun. I really enjoyed reading this book and hope you will, too!
