Tuscan Cliffs builds home offices

In a city known for being "Open 24 Hours," most residents can do business from any location where mobile phone service and Internet connections are available. At Tuscan Cliffs, busy executives and business owners can work from the comfort of their own homes with all the technology necessary to keep them connected.

"Home offices are one of the top interests among home buyers at Tuscan Cliffs," said Michael Goeth, sales associate at the semi-custom development in Southern Highlands. "Every one of our four model homes features an office on the first-floor, opening to a courtyard. This gives it a little separation from the main home and a nice view of the fire and water features in the courtyards."

Builder Pacific Southwest Development offers structured wiring systems that allow home offices to be wired with multiple phone lines, wireless Internet and cable television.

"Our residents need to stay connected with their businesses, whether they are a few miles away in the lights of Las Vegas or around the world in Europe and Asia," Goeth said. "We can custom design each home office at Tuscan Cliffs to suit the needs of our residents."

One of Tuscan Cliffs' most interesting home office designs is in the Villa de Gabriella model home," Goeth said. The office features a library of books in custom-built cabinetry. It has its own entrance to the courtyard and a private bath.

"This office also features a partners' desk, which is a custom desk that is anchored to the wall with seating on either side. It is a very popular and functional style right now," he said.

Access to the front courtyards from home offices have also proven popular among residents, Goeth said.

"The courtyards are perfect places to find inspiration for those in creative businesses," he said.

Fire is used through interior courtyards, backyards, cabanas and patios with fireplaces and fire pits.

"This unique natural element brings an aesthetic and useful facet to every one of the homes," Goeth said.

Tuscan Cliffs also uses water features to enhance the natural beauty and indoor/outdoor living philosophy in its homes, he said.

The Villa de Giovanni's front courtyard showcases sheer descent waterfalls on either side of an outdoor fireplace. The front courtyard of the Villa de Gabriella also uses a sheer descent water element.

The semi-custom homes measure from 4,328 to 6,001 square feet. More than 50 configurations are available among the four base models. Each offers a master suite with a separate retreat, rear patio and central courtyard.

Home sites measure at least one-quarter acre. Premium lots, including some with views of the valley and others that are oversized, are available, Goeth said.

Standard amenities include paverstone driveways, sand-finished stucco exteriors, stainless-steel appliances, exterior stone veneer, 42-inch maple cabinets, granite countertops, 6-foot garden tubs, wood-clad Andersen windows and Kohler plumbing fixtures.

Pacific Southwest also recently added stainless-steel Viking appliances, wrought-iron stair railings, and granite counters and vanities as standard features.

All homes include outdoor kitchens and disappearing glass doors, which allow residents to link internal and external areas seamlessly, Goeth said.

In addition, each residence qualifies as an Energy Star home, saving owners on their heating and cooling expenses while providing quieter, more environmentally friendly homes, he said.

Base prices at Tuscan Cliffs start at just over $1 million.

Residents will receive a one-year social membership to the Southern Highlands Golf Club, upon application approval, Goeth said. The club includes a social calendar, spa, resort-style swimming pool and other facilities.

To visit, take Interstate 15 to the St. Rose Parkway exit and go west. Drive north on Southern Highlands Parkway and proceed to Stonewater Lane, then turn left and follow the signs.

Office hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, except Monday when it opens at 1 p.m. For more information, 228-8559.
