Tuscan Cliffs’ semi-custom homes feature wine grottos

Tuscan Cliffs, a semi-custom home collection in Southern Highlands, offers options for wine storage and display in each of its four model homes. From wine grottos to wine cellars, wine connoisseurs have many options to house their collections.

"One of our most popular wine-themed designs is the casita shown in our Villa de Rafael model home," said Tuscan Cliffs sales manager Rob Evon. "We created a wine grotto, complete with a tasting table, storage areas, wine-themed wall treatments and an outdoor tasting area. Many of our residents have vast collections of wine and spirits, and this allows them to store and display their collections in a unique way."

The Villa de Rafael provides space for homeowners to socialize with guests while offering selections from the wine grotto with both indoor and outdoor seating.

"Indoor-outdoor living is a key theme at Tuscan Cliffs, and the front courtyard in this home is a perfect place to entertain," Evon said.

The homes feature front courtyards, interior courtyards and rear covered patios which are accessible from multiple rooms in the homes.

"We utilize disappearing glass doors to blend the indoors with the outdoors in various areas of the homes," Evon said.

"It gives a fluidity between the two that extends the courtyards' usefulness to year-round instead of just certain seasons."

Tuscan Cliffs offers options for wine cellars inside the main residences of the Villa de Rafael and Villa de Gabriella model homes.

"These spaces can be enclosed and climate-controlled, which is preferred for proper storage of most fine wines," Evon said. "In our models, we show the wine cellars built with stone walls and viewing windows so guests can get a glimpse of the collection without going inside."

In the Villa de Gabriella model, the wine cellar can also house an elevator or storage room. In the Villa de Franchesca model, the wine cellar can be built as a wet bar.

"One of the greatest benefits of semi-custom home building is that each resident can configure their floor plans to best suit their lives," Evon said.

"We allow each homeowner to highlight the things they enjoy the most, whether it be their taste in wine, interest in cooking or love for entertaining. Each home is uniquely suited to its owners."

More than 50 configurations are available among the four base models at Tuscan Cliffs.

Each offers a master suite with a separate retreat, rear patio, central courtyard and common areas.

Among thousands of available options at every home are theater systems, structured wiring systems and media networks, elevators, wine cellars and grottos, custom ceiling treatments, swimming pools, outdoor fireplaces, water features and a variety of decorator touches.

The builder also added stainless-steel Viking appliances, wrought-iron stair railings, and granite counters and vanities as standard features.

All home sites measure at least one-quarter acre. Premium lots, including some with views of the valley and others that are oversized, are available, Evon said.

Standard amenities include paverstone driveways, sand-finished stucco exteriors, stainless-steel appliances, exterior stone veneer, 42-inch maple cabinets, granite counter tops, 6-foot garden tubs, wood-clad Andersen windows and Kohler plumbing fixtures.

Pacific Southwest also added stainless-steel Viking appliances, wrought-iron stair railings and granite counters and vanities as standard features.

All homes include outdoor kitchens and disappearing glass doors, which allow residents to link internal and external areas seamlessly, Evon said.

Pacific Southwest Development is offering complimentary one-year social memberships to the Southern Highlands Golf Club for new residents at Tuscan Cliffs, Evon said.

The Southern Highlands Golf Club and Spa at Southern Highlands include a 13,000-square-foot spa, 4,000-square-foot fitness center, fitness classes, a 25-meter lap pool, tennis courts, Jacuzzis and private poolside cabanas.

Its golf course was named by Golf Digest magazine as one of the "top residential golf courses in the United States."

Base prices start at just over $1 million.

To visit, take Interstate 15 to the St. Rose Parkway exit and go west. Drive north on Southern Highlands Parkway and proceed to Stonewater Lane, then turn left and follow the signs.

Office hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. except Monday when it opens at 1 p.m. For more information, call 228-8559.
