Tuscan Cliffs touts indoor/outdoor living philosophy
A new element in luxury home design known as disappearing glass doors is proving to be one of the most talked-about design features at Tuscan Cliffs in Southern Highlands, sales manager Rob Evon said.
The collection of semi-custom homes features disappearing doors in a variety of ways, all complementing builder Pacific Southwest Development's philosophy of indoor/outdoor living.
"We truly believe that better living is achieved through a balance of indoors and outdoors at home," Evon said. "There is no better place than Las Vegas to cultivate the relationship between these two areas to create harmony at home."
A centerpiece of Tuscan Cliffs' indoor/outdoor philosophy is the use of so-called disappearing glass doors.
"These glass doors can function as windows, but essentially disappear into the walls of the home when they are opened fully," Evon said. "Opening the doors creates a natural flow from the multiple rooms that connect to interior and exterior courtyards."
According to Evon, many residents at Tuscan Cliffs choose disappearing glass doors because they create energy and movement among guests when they entertain.
"It appears that part of the room is inside and part of it is outside," Evon said.
Tuscan Cliffs continues its indoor/outdoor living philosophy through front courtyards, interior courtyards and rear covered patios. The courtyards often incorporate natural elements such as stone, fire and water to create a peaceful environment, he said.
Rear yards at Tuscan Cliffs are among the home's central gathering places, Evon said. Often featuring cabanas and entertainment elements, every home is offered with an outdoor kitchen and yard that's large enough for a pool and spa.
"We have found these elements to be among the most in-demand for creating a truly inviting outdoor environment," Evon said.
More than 50 distinct configurations are available among the four model homes at Tuscan Cliffs. Each offers a rear patio, central courtyard and common areas designed for families who like to entertain.
Plans range from 4,328 to 5,441 square feet in their base configurations and may measure as large as 6,000 square feet with options.
All home sites measure at least one-quarter acre. Premium lots, including some with views of the valley and others that are oversized, are available.
Standard amenities at Tuscan Cliffs include paverstone driveways, sand-finished stucco exteriors, stainless-steel appliances, exterior stone veneer, 42-inch maple cabinets, granite countertops, 6-foot garden tubs, wood-clad Andersen windows and Kohler plumbing fixtures.
Thousands of options are available for nearly every aspect of the home, including structured wiring systems and media networks and swimming pools.
The builder also added stainless-steel Viking appliances, wrought-iron stair railings and granite countertops and vanities as standard features.
Each Tuscan Cliffs residence qualifies as an Energy Star home, saving owners on their heating and cooling expenses while providing quieter, more environmentally friendly homes, Evon said.
Base prices in the community start at just over $1 million.
Residents of Tuscan Cliffs will receive a one-year social membership to the Southern Highlands Golf Club, upon application approval, Evon said. The club includes a social calendar, spa, resort-style swimming pool and other facilities.
To visit, take Interstate 15 to the St. Rose Parkway exit and go west. Drive north on Southern Highlands Parkway and proceed to Stonewater Lane, then turn left and follow the signs.
