Tuscany Residential Village course awarded 2006 ‘Best Player Services’

The par-72, 6,900-yard championship golf course at the Tuscany Golf Club has won Vegas Golfer magazine's Fairway Award for Best Player Services in 2006.

"Our competitors were every other golf club in Las Vegas," said Tuscany head golf professional C.W. Woods.

"Our employees give first-class customer service from the time we unload our golfers' clubs to the time we send the players on their way."

Woods said the Tuscany Golf Club also received an award from Vegas Golfer in 2005.

"Our No. 18 is a par 4," he said. "We won Best Finishing Hole. Our No. 18 hole is a semi-island green in a park-like setting with magnificent views of the mountains.

"Ted Robinson Jr. designed the course as fast, friendly and fun for all types of players. It is challenging for experienced golfers, yet forgiving for beginners."

"The award acknowledges the hard work we do to make sure every golfer has a great experience," said Tom Vold, general manager of Tuscany Golf Club.

"The staff makes sure all their needs are met, and they choose to come back here for the course, but also because of the way they're treated."

Vold said the course has fewer desert features like arroyos and canyons to navigate, so a player can hit a less-than-desirable shot and still find the ball.

"That's a strong point for high-handicap recreational players," he said.

"Our golfers are at all levels of experience and interest, from people who play three times a week to those who play once a year.

"We try to make sure all our golfers get the best course and customer service for the value."

The master-planned golf-course community of Tuscany offers 18 distinct neighborhoods with floor plans ranging from 1,724 to 4,392 square feet.

Tuscany's floor plans include single-, two- and three-story homes with lofts, great rooms, two- and three-car garages and island kitchens.

Prices begin in the $200,000s.

La Vita Tuscana, a community recreation center measuring about 35,000 square feet, is now under construction.

It will include a basketball court, two racquetball/handball courts, a fitness room, meeting rooms, card room, billiards, tennis courts, lap pool, lagoon pool, children's play area and picnic area.

To visit the models, take Lake Mead Drive east past Boulder Highway to Mohawk Drive and turn left. Office hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
