Twain impersonator Layne finally plays Broadway

Nevada travelers eventually will run into McAvoy Layne, the affable fellow who has spent much of his adult life impersonating Mark Twain for historical and entertainment purposes.
Layne is likely to appear at elementary school assemblies, Nevada Press Association awards banquets, and casino grand openings. He is, in fact, likely to appear just about anywhere you’d like him to.
In the wake of the latest autobiography of Mark Twain, Layne and his cohorts have been getting more calls to service in the name of the great American writer.
Now Layne has really made the big time. His photo appears not once but twice in today’s edition of The New York Times. One photo is on the cover.
