Twists, turns fill ‘The Opposite of Me’

Lindsey Rose has worked hard to get where she is in her career as an advertising executive, sacrificing personal life for career. Just when she is about to grab the brass ring that will bring her the vice president’s position at her firm, Lindsey’s life begins to unravel.

Her career in tatters, Lindsey flees to her parents' home in Maryland to lick her wounds and try to put her life back together. But you know what they say about not being able to go home again.

Lindsey arrives to find her fraternal twin sister — the beautiful, gloriously successful Alex, who is supposedly in the midst of lavish wedding preparations — in the arms of Lindsey’s best friend, Bradley. Surprisingly, Alex seems to be shouldering her own load of bad decisions.

As the sisters struggle with their problems, including career changes and a potentially devastating medical crisis, a secret from the past comes out that will alter the way they both perceive their lives, their futures and their overall happiness.

Sarah Pekkanen’s debut novel, “The Opposite of Me,” is a lively, fascinating look into the relationship of twins and how a small effort to be themselves can make all the difference in their worlds.

This fast-paced, heartwarming story is incredibly entertaining with a variety of imaginative twists and turns that Pekkanen delivers with finesse and creativity.
