Twittering the night away

I made it a point (being the modern guy I am) to follow portions of the recently concluded Nevada Special Session via the Twitter medium. Here's my take: If you want to transform an important, but boring news event, into an even more boring news event, twittering the night away in Carson City is just the way to do it.

I followed several writers. The absolute most boring was the well-traveled liberal shill Jon Ralston, who fancies himself relevant. Truth is, he's pretty dreadful in traditional mediums (sweaty no-ratings television; throw-away columns), but give him a Blackberry from which to use his opposable thumbs to twitter and this guy can almost make your eyes bleed.

The governor walked out of a room... The governor walked into a room... Somebody said this ... Somebody said that ... Paint drying ... almost dry ... and its ... dry.

Twittering has a place in news, I suppose. But is it in doing play-by-play of legislation?
