Unemployment ticks down — here’s why

The nation's horrible unemployment rate ticked downward today.

This leads some to see a ray of sunshine post the Obama economic apocalypse. Thanks goes to the American people who took some of the control away from President Obama, Sen. Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi and handing it to a Republican congress.

After two years of complete control, Democrats brought this country to its economic knees. But after only one year of a Republican congress, the rate is improving.

But it's still way too high. And the carnage is so extensive there's no guarantee we'll see continued better numbers month-in and month-out for a while. Here's hoping for continued change in the next election cycle. I know that there's an ever-dwindling number of people who still believe Democrats have a clue about the economy.

But for those lost folks let me quote Bill Paxton's character in the movie "Aliens" — "Hey, maybe you haven't been keeping up on current events, but we just got our asses kicked, pal!"
