UNLV coaches announce other starting positions for Wisconsin game
The announcement that junior Mike Clausen will start at quarterback Saturday wasn't the only personnel decision made by UNLV's football coaches.
They also made several significant decisions regarding other spots for the 8 p.m. game against No. 12 Wisconsin at Sam Boyd Stadium.
• Senior Channing Trotter will start at running back, though junior C.J. Cox and redshirt freshman Bradley Randle will play. Freshman Tim Cornett also could get some carries.
• Junior B.J. Bell will start at defensive end. He was No. 2 at that spot for much of training camp.
• The decision at right cornerback between senior Quinton Pointer and junior Deante Purvis hasn't been made.
Also, senior offensive tackle Matt Murphy might not be able to go against the Badgers. He has had his left foot in a walking boot. Coach Bobby Hauck said he have a better idea Tuesday. If Murphy can't go, sophomore Yusef Rodgers will start.
