UNLV hosting three football recruits

UNLV's football team is hosting at least three recruits this weekend, including three-star wide receiver Michael Thomas of Consumnes Oaks High School in Elk Grove, Calif.

Thomas (6 feet 3 inches, 170 pounds) also has received scholarship offers from UCLA, UNR and Idaho. He visited UCLA in mid-September, but the Bruins have since undergone a coaching change.

Quarterback Jake Hall (6-5, 210) of Jserra Catholic in San Juan Capistrano, Calif., and all-around athlete Troy Hawthorne (6-3, 210) of Centennial High in Peoria, Ariz., also are in town.

Hall passed for 1,725 yards and 19 touchdowns, with eight interceptions. UNLV is his only scholarship offer, but Rivals reported he has received interest from UCLA, San Diego State and UNR.

Hawthorne's other scholarship offer was from Northern Arizona, according to Scout.
