Vegas Was A Tax Haven For ‘Hercules’

Kevin Sorbo is long gone from Vegas. He and his family moved 3 1/2 years ago, he told me at Fator’s post-show party. Why did he go?

“Gotta be back in L.A.” for work, he said. “Vegas, initially to me, was just a tax haven. I ended up falling in love with it. But I shot [‘Hercules’ and 'Andromeda'] out of the country for 12 years. So I figured if I’m going to be gone nine months a year, why should I pay California’s state tax?”

He’s still a member of DragonRidge golf course, site of his second annual golf charity event (to help fund afterschool programs) in the fall, featuring Hootie and the Blowfish and Meatloaf. And his parents moved here. “So we come out here a lot.”
