Weekend book events

  Tim Madden, a Book Nook contributor, will promote his mystery novel, “The Bruja’s Tale,” from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Barnes and Noble, 3860 S. Maryland Parkway. (Madden also will participate in the Mystic Masquerade Book Fair Oct. 11 at Clark County Library, 1401 E. Flamingo Road. Although the event will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Madden will appear between 11 a.m. and noon.)
  Also, Henderson resident Traian Matye will host a signing event for his book, “Prop Wash: A Fighter Pilot’s Hazy Recollections of WWII,” from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Legacy Golf Club, 130 Par Excellence Drive in Henderson. For more information, e-mail Tom801@cox.net.
