Weiner ‘sexter’ a self-described ‘super liberal’

The Las Vegas woman identified as having had a racy online relationship with New York congressman Anthony Weiner describes herself as a "super liberal" whose heroes include Jon Stewart and Bill Maher.

Lisa Weiss, a blackjack dealer who has worked at the Bellagio, could become a figure in a pending House Ethics Committee investigation of Weiner, a seven-term Democratic representative who confessed on Monday he had carried on "inappropriate" telephone and Internet conversations with a half-dozen women.

The Review-Journal has attempted to contact Weiss, who has not spoken publicly. Information about her involvement with Weiner has come via the gossip site RadarOnline.com.

Further information gleaned from her Facebook page and Twitter account, where she goes by @liberallisa, indicated Weiss is a native of Milwaukee who studied at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee and was in the class of 1991.

According to Radaronline, Weiss said she once worked as a Democratic campaign worker. A spokesman for the Nevada Democratic Party said today there is no record that she was a volunteer.

On Twitter, Weiss has given shout-outs to Democrats and liberals in office and in the media, including President Barack Obama; Newark, N.J., Mayor Cory Booker; and TV commentators Jon Stewart, Keith Olbermann, Denis Leary and Stephen Colbert.

Her Twitter profile says: "super liberal! learned all i know from stephen colbert, jon stewart and bill maher!! blackjack dealer in vegas"

According to the gossip website, Weiss said she shared 220 messages wtih Weiner beginning last August and also conversed on the telephone. According to the website, Weiss claimed she had phone sex with Weiner while he was using a government telephone.

Weiss reportedly told the gossip site she became disenchanted with Weiner and decided to come forward after Weiner did not return her messages after the scandal erupted over a racy photo sent from his Twitter account to a Seattle woman. Weiner on Monday acknowledged he had sent the photo.

On June 3, Weiss attempted via Twitter to contact MSNBC commentator Rachel Maddow:

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., has called for the ethics committee to open an investigation of Weiner. Two other women, including a former porn star, have come forward saying they received messages and revealing photos from the congressman.
