Where are the jobs, Harry?

Now comes this letter from Lloyd Sauter, a Las Vegas businessman, to Sen. Harry Reid.

"Harry:

"It is noted that a firm is constructing a large plant that produced sun panels in Freemont, California.

"Why didn't you use your influence instead of just rhetoric to bring the operation to Nevada? The facility will employ approximately 3,000 people. Is it just political rhetoric that Las Vegas and Nevada are going to be the center of the new energy era? Did Pelosi, Feinstein and Boxer out maneuver you?

"May I hear from you soon. "

I think Lloyd is on to something. More than a few people are beginning to wonder why, if Nevada is going to become this big solar power farm, using our land, sunlight and water to produce energy for California, why in the world don't we also get the jobs that come with the manufacturing of those solar panels? In this case, the manufacturing jobs stayed in California.

If we really do have clout in Washington, why didn't those jobs come to Nevada?

Senator, I believe you owe the man an answer.
