William Lyon features summertime activities at Mountain Falls

William Lyon Homes' Mountain Falls, a master-planned, golf-course community in the town of Pahrump, Nev., offers a long list of summertime activities, according to resident facility manager Josh Gaston.

"Relaxing in our sparkling pool area is the perfect pastime for residents who want to cool off and have fun with family members and neighbors," Gaston said. "Residents just can't beat the convenience. It's like having a water park and resort-style swimming pools right in the backyard."

The resident facility's aquatic area includes a 25-yard lap pool and Jacuzzi reserved for adults.

The family pool area features a free-form pool and interactive splash pad with eight water stations. Sprinklers, bucket dumps, jelly jets and water rings are among the highlights.

A slip-resistant surface ensures safety throughout the splash pad area, Gaston said. The Grill Room at Mountain Falls Golf Club offers pool-friendly snacks and refreshments to swimmers and their guests.

"We're open 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays and long hours on weekends," said Gaston, who welcomes about 60 swimmers each weekday and upwards of 100 residents on Saturdays and Sundays. "The response has been fantastic. We have more than enough space, seating and shaded area to go around. We're even planning a few pool parties for residents so they can swim and enjoy a barbecue prepared by The Grill Room."

The facility also includes a multi-purpose room that offers arts and crafts classes for youth. Summertime projects and back-to-school crafts are planned.

"For a nominal fee, children can enjoy a few hours of organized activity with other neighborhood kids," said Gaston, citing the success of a recent Father's Day art project.

A resident lounge with a pool table is a hot spot for game lovers.

"We host a smoke-free first Friday poker night. It's ideal for folks who love the game but don't want to gamble. There's a women's game group, too," Gaston said.

For fitness-focused residents, the community resident facility's workout center offers rows of treadmills. An organized yoga class is offered for a drop-in fee of $5.

"It's a real bargain compared to classes offered at yoga studios," Gaston said. "Our environment is friendly and appeals to participants of all ages and fitness levels. We're very open to offering new classes and love when homeowners approach us about classes they want to teach or take."

Homes buyers can choose from five all single-story communities. William Lyon Homes' Cascata Ancora, Tramonto and Bella Sera offer floor plans ranging from 1,429 to 2,897 square feet. Layouts have as many as five bedrooms and four baths. Prices start in the upper $100,000s.

Celebrate Homes' Villa Serena and Villagio feature plans measuring 1,600 to 1,825 square feet with up to four bedrooms and three baths. Homes are priced from the low $200,000s. Presales are under way.

Classic Homes and Desert Wind Homes will debut communities shortly, Gaston said.

When completed, Mountain Falls will include dozens of neighborhood mini parks and a walking trail that will measure about 4 miles long. Homeowner association fees are established at less than $45 per month.

To visit, travel about 45 miles west on State Route 160 (Blue Diamond Road) past Interstate 15. Before reaching Pahrump, turn left on Manse Road. Proceed to Hafen Ranch and turn right, then left on Lakeview. The Mountain Falls Information Center is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
