William Lyon Homes to hold 2 grand openings this weekend

William Lyon Homes will hold grand openings for two of its single-story neighborhoods: The Crossings in the northwestern Las Vegas Valley and Series 1 at Mountain Falls in Pahrump.

Opening this weekend along the outskirts of Las Vegas near the Sheep Mountain Range is The Crossings. The gated, single-story neighborhood features residences ranging from 2,652 to 3,068 square feet.

"Our home sites are spectacular with some measuring up to a half acre and offer plenty of room for an RV or pool and outdoor entertaining," sales agent Charlotte Bell said.

"It (The Crossings) offers a unique setting with the Sheep Mountain Range, Floyd Lamb Park at Tule Springs and other parks nearby, but yet it is close to shopping and a hospital with the 215 Beltway only five miles away," she said.

Three model homes are featured and offer three or four bedrooms, 2½ to 3½ baths, courtyard, and three-car garage. Each is highlighted by an open design concept as well as a kitchen island with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. These plans feature gathering areas and interior courtyards. Prices start from the $260,000s.

To visit, take Interstate 215 to Jones Boulevard and head north. Travel past Horse Drive and follow the signs.

Also celebrating its grand opening is Series 1 at Mountain Falls in Pahrump. The single-story neighborhood features four floor plans measuring from 1,514 to 2,102 square feet with three bedrooms, two baths, 9-foot ceilings, kitchen island with pantry and two-car garages. Design options include a den, fourth bedroom or covered patio. Prices start at $117,000.

According to marketing executive Linda Kemper, Series 1 will appeal to buyers searching for a well-designed, single-story home coupled with a relaxed, amenity-enhanced lifestyle.

"People are moving to Mountain Falls for lifestyle reasons and the home design," Kemper said. "They are looking for the spirit of neighborhood and for peace and quiet, less congestion, and clearer skies. Many of our recent Mountain Falls buyers migrated to Las Vegas in the 1980s and early 1990s before the big housing boom and they want to move away from the metropolis and to enjoy the lifestyle of Mountain Falls and the small-town atmosphere of Pahrump."

In December, the builder introduced three new neighborhoods in Las Vegas.

Located within the Aliante master-planned community is the Fields, where two-story homes measure from 2,210 to 2,723 square feet and are priced from $207,000. To visit the Fields, take I-215 to Aliante Parkway and head north. Turn left on Elkhorn Road and the neighborhood is on the left.

The Commons features three two-story designs that range from 2,254 to 2,727 square feet and are priced from $217,000. Oversized home sites measuring up to 14,000 square feet are available. To visit The Commons, take the I-215 to Decatur Boulevard, head north toward Grand Teton Drive and follow the signs.

The Cottages at Centennial Ranch is a gated neighborhood located within the Centennial Ranch community in North Las Vegas and offers four designs measuring from 1,335 to 1,776 square feet. Prices start from $115,000. To visit The Cottages, take I-215 to Losee Road and travel south. Head west on Centennial Parkway, south on Bruce Street and then west on Azure Avenue, following the signs to the gated entrance.

Additional neighborhoods include West Park Courtyards and West Park Villas in Summerlin where townhomes range from 1,556 to 2,452 square feet and are priced from the mid-$100,000s.
