World Cup — What’s that buzzing sound

If you tuned into the World Cup Saturday to see the USA play England to a 1-1 tie, you have said what I said: "What is the buzzing sound?"

The answer is it is a vuvuzela, a noisy plastic trumpet that has become a hit with fans in South Africa.

Well, it may be a hit for fans in the stadium, but it's an absolute annoyance for us teevee viewers. In fact, I muted the sound for just about all the game. The buzzing sound was unbearable.

World Cup officials are mulling a ban on vuvuzelas.

I hope they do.
