Wyoming can’t take UNLV lightly

Coming off a 34-31 loss at previously winless New Mexico, Wyoming coach Dave Christensen knows his football team can't take UNLV lightly.

The Cowboys (2-8, 0-6 Mountain West Conference) play UNLV (1-8, 1-4) at 7 p.m. Saturday at Sam Boyd Stadium.

"We have a very similar opportunity in UNLV," Christensen said. "They have talent and a new coach in Bobby (Hauck). He's doing a great job instilling discipline back into the program."

Christensen was asked what impressed him most about the Rebels.

"They still have some explosive players," he said. "They have playmakers on defense. They have an experienced quarterback (Omar Clayton), and they're going with him. They have linemen who can play. The receivers are playmakers."
