Young family finds home in Harmony neighborhood

When Robert and Grace Tuazon were in the midst of their search for a brand-new home, they were looking not only for a home that meets the needs of their family of four, but also a neighborhood with "just the right location."

They said they discovered this and much more when they visited Ladera Terrace by Harmony Homes.

The young couple said the neighborhood's location within The Mesa village of the 22,000-acre Summerlin master-planned community impressed them.

"We chose Ladera Terrace because of the location. The neighborhood is really close to my daughter's school and we like living in the Summerlin community," Grace Tuazon said.

In addition to offering access to the Las Vegas Beltway in Summerlin South, the neighborhood provides residents access to a community swimming pool and two playground areas.

Additionally, the neighborhood is located next to the 19-acre Mesa Park that offers tennis and basketball courts, baseball fields, a playground and picnic area.

The Tuazons selected the 2,320-square-foot Shiraz model with four bedrooms, 2½ baths, loft and two-car garage.

"We like everything about Ladera Terrace -- the neighborhood and this particular house itself," Grace Tuazon said of the two-story home that they moved into in January.

"It has many things that we were looking for, like four bedrooms. Our particular home fits the size of our family and our needs."

In addition to the home design itself, she has been impressed by the corner home site on which their home is situated, as well as the size of their backyard and patio.

Robert Tuazon also looks forward to spending time outdoors and said he liked the home's designer touches.

"I like how the backyard seems huge and the stone accents on the front of the home," he said. "I especially like having prewiring for surround sound built into the house and all of its other features. We love our new home and are happy living in Ladera Terrace."

The couple's Shiraz model is one of three two-story designs offered. Additional floor plans include the 2,523-square-foot Chardonnay and the 2,622-square-foot Cabernet. Both offer four bedrooms, an optional fifth bedroom, 2½ baths and two-car garage.

Each home features an open design and a kitchen island with granite counter tops, a dual sink and beech cabinetry.

Each also includes a ceramic-tile entry; dual-sink vanities in the master bath; second-floor laundry room; raised-panel doors; prewiring for ceiling fans, cable and a security system; and a rear yard gas barbecue stub.

Additionally, all of the homes are Energy Star certified and include many energy-efficient features such as Milgard low-e windows, programmable thermostats, 50-gallon gas water heater, 13-SEER air conditioner and insulated heating and cooling ducts.

Only 36 homes remain with prices starting from $246,990.

To visit, take the Las Vegas Beltway to Russell Road and head west. At the roundabout, head northward on Mesa Park Drive and then turn right at the second Ladera Terrace entrance, following the signs.

The models are open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., except Monday, when they open at noon. The sales office may be reached at 982-0018.

Harmony Homes offers 18 additional neighborhoods throughout the valley, where single- and two-story homes range from 1,306 to 4,265 square feet and are priced from the $90,000s.

Harmony Homes is locally owned and operated with more than 20 years experience. The builder is also active in California and Texas.
