YOUR WEEKEND: Bring an executive chef into your kitchen at Vox Wine Lounge

Have you ever enjoyed a meal in a restaurant and wondered how you could re-create the dish in your own kitchen? Vox Wine Lounge, 2630 W. Horizon Ridge Parkway, in Henderson, is giving patrons the chance to do just that, by offering the opportunity to learn how to prepare one of its executive chef's special creations on the first Saturday of every month.

On Sept. 6 from noon to 2 p.m., executive chef David Nayfeld will show participants how to make a three-course menu of chilled avocado soup with Mexican crème and Fresno chili relish, pan-seared scallops with a sweet corn coulis and roasted tomato vinaigrette, and warm apple galette topped with vanilla bean ice cream and apple caramel sauce.

Each class costs $40 and includes instruction and a complimentary lunch. Reservations are recommended and can be made by calling 407-7780.
