YOUR WEEKEND: Cashman Center to host Happy Paws and Friends Pet Expo

Start your holiday shopping this weekend, while helping out local animal-related charities at the second annual Happy Paws and Friends Pet Expo, from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Nov. 22 and 23, at Cashman Center, 850 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Visitors will discover an indoor village, featuring vendors selling the latest pet products, toys and accessories, plus a petting zoo, giveaways, raffles and contests.

In addition, children and families will be treated to entertainment, featuring the Popovich Comedy Pet Theatre, and celebrity pet performers Scout, a.k.a. “Air Bud,” the basketball-playing golden retriever, and “Tillman,” the skateboarding and snowboarding bulldog.  “Pawtographs” of both canine stars will be available for fans.

Admission is free to all police, highway patrol, fire and rescue, educators and their families. Other adults are $10; seniors, $5; kids under 13, free. This is an indoor show, so please leave pets at home.

Admission discounts are available with the donation of a used cell phone to benefit the Cell Phones for Soldiers Program.
