YOUR WEEKEND: Desert Breeze to host softball world series

The North American Sports Federation's 16th annual Men's and Co-ed slow-pitch world series will be held from 5 to 10 p.m. on Oct. 10 and 11 at Desert Breeze Sports Complex, at Spring Mountain Road and Durango Drive.

There is a three-game guarantee, and a $100 deposit holds your spot. The tournament will be limited to 48 teams. In 2008, 65 ball clubs competed from Arizona, California, Colorado Michigan, Ohio, New Jersey, Illinois, Missouri, Louisiana, Alaska, Texas, Florida, Utah, Washington, and Canada. A $5,000 award package will be distributed to the top six teams. For information, call Ralph Reuber at 289-2292.
