YOUR WEEKEND: Egg hunts, games, rides and more planned at valley Easter events

Grab your Easter baskets and prepare your sweet tooth as a variety of free Easter events are planned for Saturday and Sunday at locations around the valley:

  • Grace Baptist Church plans to host an Easter Eggstravaganza on Saturday with more than 10,000 eggs, games, toys, candy, hot dogs, jump houses and live music. The event, for children up to fifth grade, is set for 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Keller Middle School, 301 Fogg St. Call 457-2619.
  • Bunny Boogie is set from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Mountain Crest Park, 4701 N. Durango Drive. Candy giveaways, spring characters, face painters, balloon artists, festival rides and more are planned. Call 455-8200.
  • A hop and shop event is set for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Town Square Las Vegas, 6605 Las Vegas Blvd. South. Easter egg hunts are planned every half hour from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Town Square Park. Bring baskets to carry your treats. Call 269-5001 or visit townsquarelasvegas.com.
  • An egg hunt is planned at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Westminster Presbyterian Church, 4601 W. Lake Mead Blvd. The event is for children through age 12. Call 648-8437.
  • The Church at South Las Vegas, 3051 W. Horizon Ridge Parkway, is planning Easter egg hunts at 3 and 5 p.m. Saturday and 1 and 6 p.m. Sunday. A raffle also is planned at the events. The Church will conduct Easter services at 2, 4 and 6 p.m. Saturday and 8:30, 10 and 11:45 a.m. and 5 p.m. Sunday. During each service, bikes and Nintendo DS game systems will be raffled off.
