YOUR WEEKEND: Enjoy some creative flying at Aviation Nation

Aviation Nation is flying into Nellis Air Force Base Nov. 8 and 9 in celebration of Veterans Day.

Aviation Nation 2008: The 21st Century Air Force will feature air demonstrations by several military organizations, including the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds. In addition, several civilian organizations will be showing their aerial tricks, as well.

More than 100 aircraft will be grounded on the base as a temporary aviation museum.

Parking will be offered at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Visitors will be transported to the base via shuttle bus after passing through security lines at the speedway. Admission to the show is free, but a $3 donation for adults and $1 for children younger than age 10 is requested to pay for the shuttle. Infants who do not require a bus seat may ride for free. Gates open at  9 a.m.

For a full schedule of events, visit the Aviation Nation Web site at www.aviationnation.org.
