YOUR WEEKEND: Fish + fun = SushiSKool at Lake Las Vegas
June 13, 2008 - 8:00 am
Ever wonder what wasabi is and why for such a cool, soothing color it's so darn hot? Or how exactly do you use a pair of chopsticks?
Now you can take those and similar questions to Chef Osamu “Fuji” Fujita, who leads kids in a one-of-a-kind SushiSKool instruction every Saturday at 3 p.m. Classes last about an hour and take place at the sushi bar inside Marssa restaurant at Loews Lake Las Vegas, 101 Montelago Blvd. in Henderson. During class time, Chef Fuji takes kids through a tour of fresh-caught oceanic delights. For those a little squeamish, fruit has been known to substitute nicely for the fish. And, you don't have to be a kid to attend. For those moms and dads who accompany their tots to class, a $25 lunch assortment of maki rolls comes complete with wine.
SushiSKool is $20 per child and includes the lesson, food and a gift bag. To enroll in SushiSKool, call 567-6000.
