YOUR WEEKEND: Museum to present science activities for kids

The Las Vegas Natural History Museum, 900 Las Vegas Blvd. North, presents weekend science activities at 11 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Saturdays during the month of June.

This weekend, on June 13, children have the opportunity to make a honeycomb candle and taste the honey that comes from bees while learning about the insects. On June 20, kids can make a grass head (like a chia pet) to take home and watch grow. On the last Saturday, June 27, children will create a project that illustrates each transformation stage in the life of a butterfly.

For more information, visit www.lvnhm.org or call 384-3466.

Admission to the museum is $8 for adults, $7 for seniors, military and students, and $4 for children ages 3 to 11.
