YOUR WEEKEND: Nevada Pops to present family show on Saturday

Nevada Pops will present its second concert, Encore!, directed by Dr. Richard McGee, right, at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 28 at Artemus W. Ham Concert Hall at UNLV, 4505 S. Maryland Parkway.

The concert will feature music from Broadway hit “The Lion King,” John Philip Sousa, a trio of songs from composer Leroy Anderson, and selections from “Superman” and “Mission: Impossible.”

In an effort to get more instruments into public schools, each person who brings a musical instrument to donate to the Clark County School District will receive free admission.

General admission tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for students, seniors and military, and children under five are free. Tickets can be purchased by calling the UNLV Performing Arts Center Box Office at 702.895.2787 or by visiting www.nevadapops.org.
