YOUR WEEKEND: ‘Seussical the Musical’ presented at local high schools

Coronado High School presents “Seussical the Musical” at 6:30 p.m. on April 29, 30, May 1 and 2 inside the campus theater, 1001 Coronado Center Drive.

There will be a pre-show carnival on opening night at 5 p.m. Advance tickets can be purchased at www.ShowTix4U.com for $8 each and at the door for $10 each.

In case you don't have enough of Whoville, Faith Lutheran Junior/Senior High School, 2015 S. Hualapia Way, will present "Seussical the Musical" the following weekend, at 7 p.m. May 8, 9, 15 and 16, at 4 p.m. May 10 and at 1 p.m. May 16. Tickets for the show are $10 and $5 for Faith students if bought online at faithlutheranlv.org, and $12 and $7 if bought at the door. For more information, call 804-4400.

“Seussical” is based on the books of Dr. Seuss and debuted on Broadway in 2000. It saw two national tours and has become a favorite for local theater groups. The musical comes without the usual burden of strict creative controls.
