YOUR WEEKEND: Shred your documents, plus take part in green community fair

Is your garage filled with boxes of old bills and paperwork that you refuse to throw away for security reasons and don’t have the time to shred yourself? If you do, then clear your Saturday morning calendar and head to Bruce Trent Park, 8851 Vegas Drive, for a free shredding party.

The event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is part of a green community fair designed to put a fun spin on recycling. In addition to learning how to help the environment, residents can purchase fresh regional produce during the Las Vegas Farmers Market, while enjoying free family games, music, a bounce house, face painting and more.

In addition, recyclable cell phones will be collected to benefit the Cell Phones for Soldiers program. All shredding service will be coordinated by Opportunity Village.
