YOUR WEEKEND: Spice up your Saturday with Chili Cook-Off

Spice up your weekend by joining the International Chili Society and chefs from across the country this weekend for the first Chili Cook-Off at MonteLago Village at Lake Las Vegas in Henderson. The sampling runs from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 24.

For $3, guests will be able to sample red chili, chili verde and salsas and cast their vote for the People's Choice Award. There also will be chiliburgers and chilidogs, as well as live entertainment from the Green Valley High School Orchestra, a disc jockey and raffles. Shops and restaurants in MonteLago Village also will offer 25 percent discounts during the cook-off. Proceeds from the cook-off will benefit Green Valley High School and Lake Mead Christian Academy.
