YOUR WEEKEND: Springs Preserve to offer a sampling a Shakespeare

The Springs Preserve, in association with Dan Decker Theatricals and the Metro Arts Council, presents “A Taste of Shakespeare” from noon to 6 p.m. daily May 23 through 25. The production consists of shortened performances of six William Shakespeare plays: “Hamlet,” “King Lear,” “Macbeth,” “As You Like It,” “Romeo and Juliet” and “Much Ado About Nothing.”

The plays will be presented on two stages with a performance starting every 30 minutes. Music will be provided by members of the Henderson Symphony Orchestra and the Green Valley High School Orchestra.

Tickets cost $9.95 for adults, and $8.95 for ages 65 and older and those showing a military or student ID. Ages 5 to 17 pay $4.95. The cost of admission includes access to the museum and other amenities at Springs Preserve, 333 S. Valley View Blvd. Attendees may bring blankets and chairs, but not coolers. Parking is free.
