YOUR WEEKEND: Your salad could earn you Bette Midler tickets

Have a winning salad recipe? It could net you the chance to see Bette Midler.

Bette Midler's Caesar Salad Girls will team up with Whole Foods Market in Town Square Las Vegas, 6689 Las Vegas Blvd. South, to host the Salad Show-down competition from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 4. Home cooks are invited to enter their favorite salad recipe for a chance to win a pair of tickets to Bette Midler's "The Showgirl Must Go On" and a personal meet-and-greet with the Divine Miss M.

The Caesar Salad Girls will be decked out in their showgirl outfits and will sample each of the salads to pick the winner. Shoppers also can try different salads and enter a raffle drawing for Bette Midler tickets, a basket of Bathhouse Betty products and Whole Foods Market gift cards.

Salad judging will take place at 1 p.m. Entry forms are available at the Town Square Las Vegas Whole Foods Market customer service desk through Friday, April 3. The forms must be submitted to the customer service desk by Friday, April 3.

Whole Foods Market will draw five recipes on Saturday, April 4, to be entered in the contest. Contestants can check the day of the competition to see if their recipe was chosen.

Whole Foods Market employees will prepare the salads based on the chosen recipes while contestants supervise.
