Ziser leaving Personhood Nevada

The folks behind Personhoon Nevada, a group pushing an initiative that would outlaw abortion, said conservative activist Richard Ziser is stepping down from his day-to-day duties with the group.

Before becoming a public face for the initiative, Ziser was an unsuccessful candidate for the U.S. Senate seat held by Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev.

Here's the statement from the Personhood organization:

For personal and family considerations Richard Ziser has resigned from the Personhood Nevada Board / Ballot Advocacy Group.  Richard shall continue to support the Nevada personhood effort and will remain available to advise the Board as needed.

Olaf Vancura, PhD, President of Personhood Nevada, noted, “We are grateful for Richard's efforts to place this historic personhood initiative on the Nevada ballot. Although we'll miss Richard in day-to-day operations, we look forward to his continued involvement and expertise as the petition drive begins.”
